A personal tour of the Elkwater Hutterite Colony on Monday featured high on the list of favourite things to do and see for 10 Friendship Force visitors from Iowa who are in the Hat until Thursday.
“There are about 200 Hutterite colonies in Alberta with three groups of Hutterites distinguishable by their code of dress and mode of operation,” said one of the members of the colony, Paul Hofer, who conducted the tour.
While school children laughed and played outside visitors viewed their classrooms where instruction is given in English and German.
